Factors That Effect Price

Many factors are used to determine an estimated cost for a disc jockey in D.C. and Maryland. What follows are general guidelines to help you plan your event while remaining conscious of your budget


 

	DJ Type Each type of DJ brings with him or her a unique set of skills and talents. 	Event Type Different types of events are priced based on the norms of similar packages in your  region and the DJ industry as a whole, we average these amounts to determine the base cost of each event type.
	Location If you called every DJ in the phone book from coast to coast you would see a wide range of price quotes based on the same event details. Besides the obvious cost of living differences, the DJ standards in one market maybe higher in other markets and perhaps less in others. All in all, we've done exhaustive research on this and have averaged the amounts in Maryland and DC - Baltimore & Salisbury to find the BEST VALUE for you..
	The Date The actual date that you choose might be in a peak month (typically April-October & the month of December) and peak in Maryland. Off peak months are generally about 25% lower in price than peak months. Hint: By choosing an off peak date you may save on a DJ as well as many of your other event services!
	Day of the Week The day of the week you choose makes a major difference in the price of a disc jockey. Most events happen on a weekend, and therefore will cost the most. Saturdays are HIGH PEAK days and Fridays and Sundays are peak days. When you are able to have a weekday event (not on a holiday), you can expect to pay less because most disc jockeys do not expect to get booked up on week days (with the exception of holiday parties in December).
	Number of Hours More than four hours costs more. Most packages are based on 2-4 hour duration with a nominal charge for overtime.
	Optional Add-Ons The various add-ons all effect price in some way. The more you want the more it will cost to deliver.
	DJ Style Audience Participation Level Low-Key/Formal - Very Little Audience Participation Moderate Interaction - Medium Audience Participation High Energy - Lots of Audience Participation The amount of audience participation also generally drives the cost of the DJ. A high-energy show takes a lot more energy and preparation than a low-key event. Generally the larger the show and higher the involvement with the audience, the more expensive the show is to produce and thus the price is higher.
