EQUIPMENT
We are currently running an exceptional setup which we take much pride in. Our main utility that we are using to load and play our music is the Numark IDJ2. This is a very reliable piece of equipment that uploads songs from our portable hard drive we use which allows us to carry around
tens of thousands of songs at a time and use effects and fades for clear transitions from song to song. The power amplifier that we use is a Samson Sx2400. It puts out 550 watts per side at 8 ohms of resistance. The speakers that we use are Samson dB500 on Samson three legged stands. They are passive speakers that put out 500 watts of power each. We also use a Samson Concertline Microphone used to interact with the audience or make simple announcements. All of this is tied together by professional Speakon Cables and XLR cables for optimal sound quality. We also have visual effects ranging from laser lights to strobe lights and black lights. Typically we will not bring our visual equipment unless it is requested.
THE EXTRA STEP
For years, photography has been another passion which we share. With every event that we do, with your permission, we will take photographs on the dance floor of guests enjoying themselves to our music. These pictures would be taken with a Canon Rebel XS 10.1 Mp D-SLR camer If you allow
us to use the pictures that we take in brochures or on our website, we will give you a CD with a copy of every picture taken during your event. These pictures are very close to the same quality of the pictures you will receive from a photographer you hire, being that they are taken from the same
quality camera used by professionals.

Wedding DJ Costs
Wedding DJ pricing. So, how much does a wedding DJ cost?
You pretty much have most of the vendors chosen for your wedding, but now onto the wedding DJ pricing. So how much does a wedding DJ cost? You will see many different wedding DJ prices. So, keep these points in mind and you will find the right one.
Cheap Wedding DJ Prices These prices will usually be in the ranges of $75 per hour or less. Many of these wedding DJ’s are part-time hobbyists. They might have no idea how to coordinate and deliver what you want at your wedding. Just call these companies and you will notice a huge difference with their customer service skills. This might be a risky deal because they might show up with low grade equipment (if they even show up at all). There is a possibility that you can spend $200-$400 on your wedding DJ and be happy, but you have to understand what cheap wedding DJ prices really mean.
At 800DJ, our recommendation: Never hire a wedding DJ that costs less than your veggie tray
Average Wedding DJ Pricing So, your biggest criteria were your budget, and you went way overboard. So, instead you and your fiancé decided to hire someone to “Just Play Music.” Do you want the good news or bad news first? Okay straight to the good news, you just saved a couple of hundred bucks! Unfortunately, your decision might cost you much more down the road. This category of wedding DJ’s is priced all over the place. Usually many are larger wedding DJ companies that subcontract 15-25 wedding DJ’s every weekend. They improve their profit margin this way (more DJ’s=smaller profit margin) to support advertisements and overhead. There are many good DJ’s that are subcontracted by these companies. However, they might be so big that you might not even know who your wedding DJ will be until the week of.
I said earlier that there is a difference between a full-time company and part-time hobbyist. A full-time company depends on your referrals to generate future leads and business. This means that they are 110% dedicated to your wedding reception. The wedding DJ cost needs be looked at with their references. Ask for recent clients’ names, phone numbers, and e-mails. When I say recent I mean 6 months or less when available. Any reputable company will be able to give you this information.
At 800DJ, our recommendation: Let the buyer beware
Expensive Wedding DJ Prices These people may charge anywhere from $1500-$4500. There may be added value, such as an additional DJ/wedding coordinator, lighting, staging, dancers, or props. Other times, this price is determined by an owner with an over inflated ego. If their wedding DJ cost is expensive, then this does not mean that they have instant credibility. This price might be marked up since they do not have enough word of mouth referrals yet. You should not have to take out a second mortgage to pay for your wedding DJ cost.
At 800DJ, our recommendation: Get everything in writing, and question anything that might be overkill
How Much Does a Wedding DJ Cost So, how much does a wedding DJ cost? This depends on how comfortable you are with the lighting, experience, equipment, music, and fun options. You should try unique things because your wedding is far from ordinary. This does not mean you need to break the bank with wedding DJ prices, but see what options are really worth the cost. The typical wedding DJ cost can vary from $450-$1200, and be dependant upon the amount of time your event is and miles of travel for the DJ. In the short term the wedding DJ price will be a factor in your budget, and in the long term 80% of the success of your wedding is based on the entertainment. If you want to have a great time, you will interview multiple companies.
At 800DJ, our recommendation: Stay away from the cheapest, don’t go with the most expensive and do not hire anyone that is simply average.
To choose a DJ for your reception day requires a great amount of time and dedication. your reception DJ should have songs for all kinds of people to make them happy and enjoy your reception.
