1.Spotlight History. Spotlight Entertainment was established in 1996 by owner Rick Riley. Rick is a Kentucky native (Owensboro), West Point graduate and ex Army Captain. Since then Spotlight Entertainment has grown to include eight complete DJ rigs with state of the art equipment and an untouchable music selection. Spotlight now conducts 10-15 shows, both DJ & Karaoke, per week in venues throughout Kentucky. Spotlight employs eight KJ/DJs in addition to Slick Rick: Party Artie (Spotlight’s Old School Expert, Business Manager & also a published songwriter), Lorrie Love (Spotlight’s Assistant Manager and KJ), DJ Macnificent (Spotlight’s Hip-Hop Expert and Video DJ), DJ Merry B (Spotlight’s Pop Expert and KJ/VJ), DJ Ay-Train (Spotlight’s Hip-Hop Mixologist), DJ Marty G (Talented KJ and Blues Harp Musician) and Sexy Sarah (Marty-G’s Better Half and talented Dancer).
2.Equipment. Absolutely state of the art. All Spotlight sound equipment is interchangeable, rack-mounted Electrovoice and Yamaha based gear. We have all the bells and whistles from Shure Mics to BBE Sonic Maximizers to Compressor/Limiter/Gates to Key & Tempo Changers. Our speakers range from 400 watt to 1600 watt capable (all EV, Peavey & Yamaha). Our amps range from 600 watts to 2600 watts capable (EV, Mackie and Crown). No short cuts = fabulous sound! We can even cut you a CD of your performance.
3.Music. Spotlight’s music selection consists of all songs listed in the Billboard Top 100 charts from 1949 to present (that’s almost 100,000 songs). If it’s been on the charts we have it!
4.Videos. Spotlight has music videos (like VH1) from 1960 to present and is capable of conducting an all video performance.
5.Karaoke. We offer over 75,000 Karaoke selections. Spotlight has just fielded a cutting edge technology Karaoke system. We use computer-based systems to store and play our music allowing the KJ to focus on what’s important…making you sound good. If we don’t have it, it ain’t made!
6.Clubs. We play at all clubs on Fort Knox nightly. We also play Louisville, Owensboro and Fort Campbell regularly. We must be doing something right.
7.Weddings. Spotlight has conducted an average 18 weddings per year from 1996 to present. We offer a worry free experience at a reasonable price by experienced MCs. With our music selection and DJ selection we can cater to your needs and service receptions from 20 people to 1000 people.
