Ross Akselrad originally started as a DJ assistant for the The Nachsin Entertainment Group. While working at the Nachsin Entertainment Group, Ross also occasionally worked with top MC's like Craig Nachsin, Bobby Morganstein, Neil Cohen, and many other respected MC's in Philadelphia. By working under these gifted MC's, Ross learned the essential basics of creating the perfect event. After almost six years of soaking in the knowledge he would need, Ross decided that it was time to spread his wings.
In July of 1994, Ross opened his own DJ Service and began booking all sorts of events. In the first half year,he performed at 20 events. However, the next year saw an increase of event bookings to over 60 and have continued to grow by leaps and bounds each year. Eventually, Ross could not handle entertaining at all the parties that he was getting calls for, thus, he had to hire another MC. Ross did not know what to do because he wanted to hire someone that believed in the providing his clients with the high quality of entertainment he provided to them. His only choice was his brother, Eric. Eric had been his assistant for four years and knew Ross' beliefs and philosophies for event entertainment. Thus, the two brothers began to entertain at hundreds of events each year.
It was during this period of time that Ross also began hiring members for his Dancer Troop and his DJ's. Ross hired Lisa Elias to head up the Dancer Troop and Staci Rubin to assist her training and assigning dancers to parties. Ross' other brother Chad was appointed head of the division that assigns DJ assistants to parties. In 1999, the company was growing so fast that Ross decided that he needed to hire another MC to help handle the growing demand for event entertainment personalities. Therefore, Ross turned to one of his best DJ assistants to take the fill the open spot. Jeff Rudolph was well versed in Ross' techniques and philosophies and quickly became one of the most popular MC personalities.
In the past year, Ross has continued hiring the experienced people that were needed to push his service to the top of the event entertainment industry. Dancer Troop additions such as Dana Esposito, Jennifer Rosinski, and Denine Wambach have given the troop the behind the scenes strength it needed to be the best dance troop on the East Coast. The addition of Ross' other brother David Most has also been a great addition to the MC personalities of as well as two hot up and comers Dave Stocklos and Al Padilla.. In the upcoming years, look for the company to expand and commit themselves even more to reaching more people and providing them with the " Party Experience" they deserve.

Wedding DJ Costs
Wedding DJ pricing. So, how much does a wedding DJ cost?
You pretty much have most of the vendors chosen for your wedding, but now onto the wedding DJ pricing. So how much does a wedding DJ cost? You will see many different wedding DJ prices. So, keep these points in mind and you will find the right one.
Cheap Wedding DJ Prices These prices will usually be in the ranges of $75 per hour or less. Many of these wedding DJ’s are part-time hobbyists. They might have no idea how to coordinate and deliver what you want at your wedding. Just call these companies and you will notice a huge difference with their customer service skills. This might be a risky deal because they might show up with low grade equipment (if they even show up at all). There is a possibility that you can spend $200-$400 on your wedding DJ and be happy, but you have to understand what cheap wedding DJ prices really mean.
At 800DJ, our recommendation: Never hire a wedding DJ that costs less than your veggie tray
Average Wedding DJ Pricing So, your biggest criteria were your budget, and you went way overboard. So, instead you and your fiancé decided to hire someone to “Just Play Music.” Do you want the good news or bad news first? Okay straight to the good news, you just saved a couple of hundred bucks! Unfortunately, your decision might cost you much more down the road. This category of wedding DJ’s is priced all over the place. Usually many are larger wedding DJ companies that subcontract 15-25 wedding DJ’s every weekend. They improve their profit margin this way (more DJ’s=smaller profit margin) to support advertisements and overhead. There are many good DJ’s that are subcontracted by these companies. However, they might be so big that you might not even know who your wedding DJ will be until the week of.
I said earlier that there is a difference between a full-time company and part-time hobbyist. A full-time company depends on your referrals to generate future leads and business. This means that they are 110% dedicated to your wedding reception. The wedding DJ cost needs be looked at with their references. Ask for recent clients’ names, phone numbers, and e-mails. When I say recent I mean 6 months or less when available. Any reputable company will be able to give you this information.
At 800DJ, our recommendation: Let the buyer beware
Expensive Wedding DJ Prices These people may charge anywhere from $1500-$4500. There may be added value, such as an additional DJ/wedding coordinator, lighting, staging, dancers, or props. Other times, this price is determined by an owner with an over inflated ego. If their wedding DJ cost is expensive, then this does not mean that they have instant credibility. This price might be marked up since they do not have enough word of mouth referrals yet. You should not have to take out a second mortgage to pay for your wedding DJ cost.
At 800DJ, our recommendation: Get everything in writing, and question anything that might be overkill
How Much Does a Wedding DJ Cost So, how much does a wedding DJ cost? This depends on how comfortable you are with the lighting, experience, equipment, music, and fun options. You should try unique things because your wedding is far from ordinary. This does not mean you need to break the bank with wedding DJ prices, but see what options are really worth the cost. The typical wedding DJ cost can vary from $450-$1200, and be dependant upon the amount of time your event is and miles of travel for the DJ. In the short term the wedding DJ price will be a factor in your budget, and in the long term 80% of the success of your wedding is based on the entertainment. If you want to have a great time, you will interview multiple companies.
At 800DJ, our recommendation: Stay away from the cheapest, don’t go with the most expensive and do not hire anyone that is simply average.
To choose a DJ for your reception day requires a great amount of time and dedication. your reception DJ should have songs for all kinds of people to make them happy and enjoy your reception.
Sometimes it may be difficult to judge the mood of the audience as there are different types of people at every party. Keep the latest music with you and listen to all kinds of radio stations to get a wide range of music.
