Wedding Insurance

Wedding Insurance

When we went on a family vacation to Disney last year, our travel agent asked us if we wanted travel insurance.  We stopped and asked, “hmmm come on, is she just trying to get more money out of us?  Is there really trip insurance?”

Yes, indeed there is and we did happen to buy it because we invested so much into our vacation to make it great, we wanted to make sure the investment was well worth it.

Low and behold we did have a problem out side of our control and we missed our connecting flight in Cleveland, OH.  Our fist day at Disney World was in a cramped hotel room in Cleveland, not Florida.  This is where the travel insurance kicked in.  We were able to reschedule our first day with the travel agent and get a rental car with the travel insurance covering us.

So as you can see having insurance for an event does not make the problem disappear, it just makes dealing with the major problems a little easier.

You may want to consider wedding insurance also to protect your self from the day from “hell”.   Getting great vendors is the first step, but having a necessary back-up plan is an even more important step.

Many times in my 23 years of experience have I seen great disc jockeys unable to preform on someones wedding day leaving the bride and groom scurrying at the last minute to find “just anyone.”  Oh the wedding horror stories I have heard when nice people leave things to chance.

  4. Have your cake and eat it kind of a dillema. What should today’s brides do? Have a expensivewedding or save for a house? I would choose the second any day

  6. Does anyone know what the typical cost of wedding insurance might be or how to calculate it?
